Brazil joins the Madrid trademark system

After Canada, Brazil is now joins the Madrid trademark system and after this successful participation, Brazil is the 105th country to join the Madrid trademark system. Brazil's instrument of accession to the Madrid Protocol was signed by President Jair Bolsonaro and therefore, the Madrid trademark system will enter into force for Brazil in October 2019.

“We are absolutely delighted that Brazil, one of the world’s largest economies, has acceded to the international trademark system,” said Mr. Gurry. “This benefits brand owners in Brazil and across the globe.
